Eduardo González

Cellist and Conductor

Born in Salamanca, Spain, Eduardo González studied cello at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen (Germany) with Alexander Huelshoff, while also working with renowned teachers such as Janos Starker, Goritzki and Elena Cheah. In 2004 he was awarded the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Foundation scholarship to continue his studies at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.

He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in major venues across Europe and Asia, including Germany, Greece, the United Kingdom, Spain and China. Since 2013 he has been Head of the String Department at the Castilla-La Mancha Higher Conservatory of Music in Albacete. He plays an Italian cello by Gaetano Sgarabotto (Parma, 1935).

As a conductor, he trained with Rafael García Vidal, Miguel Romea and Catherine Maguire. He is Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Camerata Orchestra of Castilla-La Mancha and Director of the Sarasate Academy, where he fosters the international projection of young talents.

His most recent engagements include conducting the Iberacademy Orchestra in Colombia with violinist Kirill Troussov, a concert with the Trakia University Orchestra in Turkey, and leading the Slovak Radio Orchestra at the Mozarteum in Salzburg (Great Hall) on December 6 and 7, 2025. In the 2024–2025 season he conducted the Camerata in concerts such as El Bosco: The Garden of Earthly Delights in November 2024, the Christmas Concert in December, and Tchaikovsky: Romantic Virtuosity with Kirill Troussov in January 2025.

He is currently President of the Camerata Orchestra Foundation of Castilla-La Mancha, from where he develops an extensive cultural and educational activity, combining concerts, pedagogical programs and European projects.
